Guided Fall Kayak Tour at Blalock Reservoir

November 21 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Discover Clayton County from the water! Join the Melvin L. Newman Wetlands Center for a free guided kayak tour of Blalock Reservoir. Open to residents and visitors, this flatwater paddling experience highlights the county’s water resources, wildlife, and cultural history while exploring one of Clayton County Water Authority’s drinking water reservoirs.

Two certified Paddlesports Safety Facilitators will lead the tour. Each paddler will receive a sit-on-top kayak, life jacket, paddle, emergency whistle, and small dry bag.

What to wear and bring: Participants must wear quick-dry clothing, closed-toed shoes, weather-appropriate layers, a shirt under their life jacket, and sun protection. Bring any additional gear you need. Snacks, a towel, a change of clothes, a hat, and binoculars are recommended.

Life jacket requirements: Available sizes include NRS Crew Youth (55–88 lbs), Onyx Youth (50–90 lbs), and NRS Crew Universal (over 88 lbs, with a chest measurement up to 58 inches). All paddlers must fit an available life jacket properly. Anyone too small to safely wear a youth life jacket cannot participate.

All Clayton County Water Authority programs are tobacco, drug, and alcohol free.
