Stitching Our Story: A Celebration of Black History
Call for Entries
Every quilt has a story. We invite you to share the story of heritage, community, journey, and roots.
Selected quilts will be displayed in the 2026 Stitching Our Story: A Celebration of Black History exhibit, running from January 20 to February 28, 2026. This showcase will highlight the role quilting plays in preserving Black history and storytelling.
A $100 Visa gift card will be awarded for Best in Show. The vote for Best in Show quilt will be conducted throughout the quilt show and announced on social media channels for See Clayton County, GA.
Eligibility:
- Open to all quilters.
- Quilts should not exceed 60 inches by 60 inches.
- No hanging sleeve required.
- Quilts may be traditional or art quilts.
- Each quilt must have three (3) layers (top, batting, and backing).
Important Dates:
- Quilt Drop off: December 2- 12, Tuesday- Friday ONLY from 10am 3pm.
- December 12, 2025: Final day to submit application, quilt photos, and biography.
- December 12, 2025: Last Day to Deliver Quilts
- February 28, 2026: Exhibit Closes.
- March 10 – March 15: Quilt pickup
Submission Requirements:
- Complete one application form for each quilt submitted.
- Provide at least one full image of the quilt and one detail image.
- Include a short artist bio and quilt story (to be used in the exhibit and for QR codes).
- Submissions should be sent electronically.
